The Following are some hi-lights from the
Industrial/Commercial/Institutional Provincial Collective Agreement
Rate Increases
 | Effective May 1, 2007 the Sheeter/Decker
total package increased by $1.10 per hour. The S/D
Assistants, Material Handlers, and Probationary Employees rates
increased by the appropriate percentage. |
 | Effective May 1, 2008 the Sheeter/Decker
total package increased by $1.25 per hour. The S/D
Assistants, Material Handlers, and Probationary Employees rates
increased by the appropriate percentage. |
 | Effective May 1, 2009 the Sheeter/Decker
total package increases by $1.45 per hour. The S/D
Assistants, Material Handlers, and Probationary Employees rates
increase by the appropriate percentage. |
Free Zone
 | Effective January 1, 2002 Article
17.1 of the Sheet Metal Agreement was amended as follows:
 | The Free Zone for Ottawa shall be the City
limits as defined and proclaimed on January 1, 2001. Any work
done outside the Free Zone, both mileage and room & board
shall be calculated from a 15 mile (24 kilometer) radius from
the intersection of Carling and Preston. The Free Zone for
Cornwall and Pembroke remains as per the language in the current
collective agreement. |

Travel Allowance:
 | Effective May 1,2007 the travel allowance increased by
$0.01
per kilometer to $0.46 per kilometer
|
 | Effective May 1,2008 the travel allowance increased by
$0.01
per kilometer to $0.47 per kilometer
|
 | Effective May 1,2009 the travel allowance increases by
$0.01
per kilometer to $0.48 per kilometer
|
Downtown Parking
 | Effective January 1, 2002 Article
17.6 of the Sheet Metal Agreement was amended to include a downtown
parking allowance for each employee, as follows:
 | Members working in the area bounded by the
Rideau River to the East, The Queensway to the South, and
Bronson Avenue to the West, shall be paid $12.00 per
working day for parking. |
